Okay, Halloween might be my favorite holiday. It’s neck and neck with Christmas. I love the cooler whether after months of super hot hot heat. I love the seasonal food. Pumpkin. Cinnamon on everything. Nutmeg. Yum. I love the 80s slasher movies. Psychological thrillers that get us all on the edge of or seats. It’s nothing but a good time.

I like to decorate the house at least a little bit for the season. It doesn’t matter if we’re throwing a Halloween party, I want to get into the scary mood. Here are some cheap and easy ideas to get your creepy juices flowing.

For the above picture, I used plug in jack-o-lanterns that you can find at any major retailer during Halloween. Then I used a letter board from Target to write a spooky message.

Use this fun and cheap Styrofoam graveyard set to decorate an empty dirt patch, planters, or grassy areas. I love to also use the cheap skeleton limbs to create humor. I found this thumbs up skeleton hand at At Home.

Capitalize on your old tools and in this case, a wheelbarrow as a cooler. Fill the wheelbarrow with ice, stock up on your favorite drinks, and use the skeleton limbs as decor. I used individual bones from At Home

Dress up your skeletons. I love all the ideas on Pinterest on how to make your plane skeletons in a hilarious set up. In this set up I used a plastic skeleton you can find at any major retailer during Halloween. I then dressed the skeletons in one of my aprons and a dish towel. On the grill I placed prop body parts that I found on Amazon. Linked is a general search of prop body parts for you to pick your favorite. Also used, is a mini toy chainsaw for extra pizzazz found on Amazon. Peep my Pinterest Halloween board here for extra inspiration on skeleton set ups.

Use fake bats to simulate them coming out of a fireplace or vents. I love the ones I found on Amazon here. They’re very durable and I use them every Halloween.

One of my all time favorite decor ideas is rubber bugs. They’re so cheap and easy to use every year. For this idea I just taped the bugs to the inside of the lampshade, turn the light on, and EEEEKKKK. Bugs. I used this rubber bug set from Amazon.
