Last summer we remodeled half of our backyard. It was quite a DIY project. We demo’d the patio, put in pavers, tore out concrete. Whew! While it’s about 98% of the way finished, we’re still working on plants and decor throughout the area. Last weekend my goal was to find the perfect pots and planters for some palm trees and herbs. I spent hours on Pinterest finding the perfect inspiration. I went to several stores and I was just disappointed. I couldn’t find the styles I was looking for and everything seemed so expensive. I’m sure you’ve all run into this problem. You just can’t find what you’re picturing. I constantly see tons of baskets, boxes, and other containers that are super cute. But you can’t put a plant in them. Or can you???!

Yes you can!! Find the perfect object you love. Keep the plant in the plastic container it came in. Then put the planter in the container you love. For plants that aren’t suitable for the plastic container, find a cheap, plastic pot that will work. Then, put that pot in the container of your choosing. Here’s a little flower planter I made for reference and inspiration.
