Revitalize Your Old Doors with These Simple Tips

Doors take a huge beating. In any house. No matter how hard you try, doors are incredibly hard to keep clean. Paint ages and yellows, things splash, dirty fingers leave marks. As you update your home it will become incredibly obvious how dingy the doors look. I always laugh about how updating one thing in a house makes old things stick out like soar thumbs.

But don’t fret! You don’t need to buy new doors! In fact, I’d beg you not to. We like to recycle and reuse as much as possible.

Doors Will inevitably start to look like this over time

These doors are original 1991. The paint is sad. The dirt and finger prints are inevitable. Door hinges are dirty. The door handles are out of date. Again, don’t worry! The solution is soooo easy. We’re going to paint the whole door and replace the door handles.

These pictures are a couple of my hallway doors half painted so you can see the progression

You can see just how bright and clean the new paint makes the doors look. This paint color is Behr’s Polar Bear .

I personally love Kwikset and the finished product of the doors has their Halifax model which you can get on amazon for $26 a piece here

The finished product:

Chef’s kiss. So pretty and clean. They are identical brand new doors.

Happy painting!
